Tecala has developed a new sustainability plan to help combat the climate crisis, and we are inviting our customers to join us. We will plant a tree for every purchase made thanks to a new partnership with Ecologi! This is part of Ecologi's work to offset carbon emissions and work toward a carbon-neutral - or even carbon-positive - economy. We are one of the few IT companies in the UK to launch such an initiative.
Trees play an important role in maintaining the correct gas balance in our atmosphere. With all of the carbon emissions that humans produce around the world, the presence of carbon dioxide in our atmosphere is increasing, which absorbs heat from the sun and causes global temperatures to rise. The consequences are disastrous for our global climate, and we are on the verge of irreversible change.
One of the many advantages of trees is that they absorb carbon dioxide from the air and release oxygen, which helps to restore the balance. A single tree generates approximately 118kg of oxygen per year. It also absorbs approximately 22kg of CO2 per year. However, humans have spent many decades felling trees to make way for farmland or to harvest raw materials from the trees themselves. This means that tree life all over the world is unable to keep up with the carbon emissions we produce, and climate change has gotten out of hand.
A commitment to responsible reforestation is an important component of restoring our atmosphere's all-important balance and limiting the impact of climate change before it permanently destroys ecosystems and our way of life.
Our pledge, made in collaboration with Ecologi, is straightforward. Each order we receive will result in the planting of a new tree to help offset global carbon emissions.
